If you've been reading my blog you would know that I've been bingeing Riverdale for the past few weeks, but a girl can only take so much murder and cults before she needs a break. So I decided to binge another show-Henry Danger (which I watched for a while on Nickelodeon before Nick turned all stupid??)
THE THING ABOUT NICKELODEON SHOWS
THEY'RE MADE FOR KIDS so when a 15-year-old me watches them I cringe at how stupid it is sometimes.
THE WEIRD THINGS ABOUT THE SHOW(S)
Firstly, the laugh tracks, which is a problem in every other sitcom, but Nickelodeon is especially annoying with this. After every emotional or serious moment, someone has to say a punchline because how else are you gonna get the kid's attention?
Secondly, the over-exaggerations of the characters. I feel like it got more and more ridiculous as the seasons went on. I've watched a lot of Nickelodeon shows and I've pinpointed the main caricatures of each of them. There's the main character, the dumb one, and the smart one.
In Henry Danger, it's Henry, Jasper, and Charlotte. In Game Shakers, it's Babe, Hudson, and Kenzie. Even in older shows like iCarly (Carly, Spencer, and Freddie), the tropes still exist and it's gotten so much more dramatic it's just stupid at this point.
Thirdly, the special effects. There were scenes where you could see the edge of the green screen and it's just so blatantly obvious they were edited.

THE STRANGE SUBTLE INNUENDOS ARE FUNNY
This show loves making jokes about Jasper being in love with Henry and I think it's hilarious. I don't ship them, I don't ship any of the main cast together but it's really fucking funny.
There was also that one episode about them using Tinder for superheroes and villains and I loved that one because it's comical.
THE FINALE
THE BEST FEW EPISODES OF THE ENTIRE SHOW AND AT THE END CHARLOTTE BECAME A CYBORG OUT OF NOWHERE BUT FRIENDSHIP AND THE FATHER-SON THING HENRY AND RAY HAS AHHH I CRIED
AND OH MY GOD THE SEQUEL SERIES AAJHSJBWJSJ
PRETTY PEOPLE OMG
I AM A SIMPLE GIRL I SEE PRETTY PEOPLE AND I WILL WATCH THE SHOW
I'm watching Danger Force now and I will probably write another blog about that once I finish it, I love this show for the nostalgia and the insane shit that goes down and also Jace Norman and Riele Downs
